Race Buddy Helen Murray
I loved all sports at school but only stumbled into triathlon in 2011 after injuring my knee when I got a little bit too close to a parked car on my way to work. I entered a local triathlon as a goal for when it healed. Since then I've competed at every distance from sprint to Ironman and competed at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Endurance events are my thing - I've done the Engadin cross-country ski marathon, a mountain marathon and an ultra marathon.
I'm so excited to be working with Race Force! I want to share my experiences with others, whatever their level or ability. I am a British Triathlon qualified Level 2 Coach and coach at Knutsford Triathlon club, so whether it's a bit of reassurance, offering advice on the course, or talking through how transition works, I simply want to help people to enjoy triathlon as much as I do. I also can't wait to work on my cheerleading skills as I've got some way to go to be as loud and enthusiastic as my mum!
I have a real passion for triathlon and endurance sports. Whether I am coaching others, talking about it on the Inside Tri Show, training with friends or competing, I have enjoyed both sides of the Race force experience, first as a customer at the 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championships and more recently as a race buddy and a race host locally and abroad. I have so far completed 3 x Ironman finisher and I am passionate about helping others and loves a good chat, especially if it involves cake.
