So it's Mallorca and its in the Med and we all think it's warm all the time, right? Not. It snowed last night on Puig Major Mountain.
As the photo shows, the swim area looks very, very nice. The beach was clean and should be well protected from any wind. There should be no issues with real surf or waves in this race.
Coming out of the water on to the beach will be a breeze as the beach is flat and no incline. That's the good news. The other news is once off the beach, you'll have to run about one city block to the transition zone. No big deal though as it's flat too.
Out of T1, you'll soon be out of the Port of Alcudia and then Alcudia itself. The ride to the Port of Pollenca and then Pollenca itself is easy, flat and picturesque As you get closer to the city of Pollenca, the mountains loom ahead, so be prepared. If its a windy day, this is where you may start feeling it. The hills start their climb just after Pollenca. BTW, the old city center of Pollenca is a great place for a visit before or after the race.
