We are supporting Pau Nash in IM Mallorca next weekend but he nearly wasnt making it to the start line after having his beloved Trek Speed Concept 7.5 racing bike stolen off his car when he stayed in London to compete at London Tri
Paul Nash is raising thousands of pounds for cancer care in memory of his mother, who died from the disease and has been in training for 18 months
At the time, Paul said: “I’m absolutely gutted. I regularly race triathlons to raise money for cancer charities and after five years I decided to be brave enough to do Iron Man.
“I’m 56 so it was a pretty serious decision and after 18 months of training on a bike that would allow me to do a good time it has been stolen.
“I’ve already raised about £1,000 and was hoping to raise a couple of thousand more once I had done the race.
“I’ve lost a number of relatives including my mum through cancer and Macmillan helped, and I have a number of relatives who survived so it’s just a little thing I can do to repay the good work they do,” he said.
After seeing the report in the London Standard Trek UK saved the day and have loaned Paul the Trek Speed Concept 9.9.
We spoke to Paul this week in prep for Mallorca and he told us he is seeing an additional 5km an hour on his bike times and is finding the speed of this beast a little intimidating but is well and truly back in the game!
We are proud to be part of Paul's support team and cant wait to meet the little beauty and the Speed Concept :). Its one of our favourite bikes and we see more these days than ever before.
