Motor Neurone Disease is tiring. For the patient. For their family and supporters. A tiredness that is endured but tiring none the less. The endless diary entries of specialist appointments at the hospital, physiotherapy at home, speech and language at another hospital, GP visits, specialist nurse assessments and on and on would be a logistical challenge for an able bodied individual, let alone a person with MND.
GENOSIS have created the InSeine Challenge and gathered a team of people to Bike, Kayak and Run 324km from the source of the River Seine into the center of Paris to raise a minimum of £70,000 to fund a Multi-Disciplinary Service in London. Having access to all the professional knowledge and skills under one roof reduces the stress on the patient and family and has been shown to increase life expectancy. This gives patients back time. Time not spent in a waiting room. Time to live.
We at Race Force are honoured to support such a bunch of crazy indivuduals for such a good cause.
You can join the team in their training on out TDF Training weekender. 2 days and over 300km on the route of the Yorkshire Grand depart. 15% of proceeds got to MNDA. Find out more here.
