Race Host Ross is attending the Kuota TriO Peschiera Triathlon in Italy this weekend and is looking to end his triathlon season on a high.
After a few weeks of rest after Challenge Roth I have eased myself myself back into training really slowly as I was struggling to shake off the Patella Tendinitis I had in the build up to Roth. Thankfully I am now feeling far better and the break has done me the world of good as I once again feel fresh and ready to go.
Although I haven't been swimming and running much, I am hoping that through cycling I have built my fitness levels back up again and whilst I will not be peaking again this weekend, I will at least not be in a trough!
Racing in Italy is sure to be a fantastic experience. Lake Garda will be a fantastic setting for the race and the swim up the canal is sure to be enjoyable. I am hoping to race the sprint-distance on the Saturday followed by the Olympic-distance event on the Sunday so I may even get to experience doing this twice. The cycle and run routes take us through the old and new parts of Peschiera, as well as into the surrounding countryside where the course gets slightly more lumpy. I am hoping that there are a few decent climbs but the course map suggests that it is a rolling course.
As it is the last triathlon I am competing in for 2016 I will be going hard and hoping to place quite highly on one or both day's. I have absolutely no idea what the standard of competition will be like though and so I won't have any idea of where I am likely to finish until I am a few hundred metres into the swim. I am also being lent a Kuoto bike for the event which will be interesting but I will attempt to get the set-up right in the 24 hours I have with it before the race.
The weather is looking decent with sunshine and 25 degree C temperatures so I won't be expecting to dehydrate but if anyone competing wants to carry me for the last 1km then I won't say no.
I'll be posting updates on Facebook whilst I am in Italy so that is the place to look for updates on my race as well as how I think the event has gone.
Happy Anniversary Jennifer! 52 weeks!

I am really quite surprised that it's been over 10 weeks since Paguera. How did that happen?
I vaguely remember doing some training soon after; cruisi...
